Dayton Audio Reference RSS390HF ported wedge enclosure for a single 15-inch driver: 2.1 cu ft net, tuned to 28 Hz, 19.9 sq in of port, F3 33.6 Hz.
The 28 Hz tuning is where this box is loudest per watt. Protect the subwoofer with a subsonic filter set 5 to 10 Hz below that number, because the port stops controlling the cone under tuning.
19.9 square inches of port area keeps port noise down when the system is pushed.
Its angled back matches the seat back; the trunk itself becomes part of the acoustic path.
Listed construction: 3/4-inch MDF, with a doubled 1.5-inch front baffle, dado and V-groove panel joints, polyfill installed, terminal cup.
Your subwoofer's mounting depth needs to be 7.01 inches or less. The published figures assume the single 4 ohm versions of the driver. Tell us which subwoofer you run and we will confirm the match first.
