Dayton Audio Reference RSS390HO ported enclosure for a single 15-inch driver: 2.02 cu ft net, tuned to 31 Hz, 28.9 sq in of port, F3 34.3 Hz.
Around 31 Hz the port does most of the work and output climbs several decibels over the same driver sealed. Below 31 Hz the cone is no longer loaded, so set a subsonic filter a few hertz under it.
With 28.9 square inches of port, air speed stays low enough that the port should stay quiet at high volume.
Listed construction: polyfill installed.
