Dayton Audio Reference RSS210HF ported wedge enclosure for a single 8-inch driver: 0.85 cu ft net, tuned to 37.5 Hz, 11.7 sq in of port, F3 32.6 Hz.
Around 37.5 Hz the port does most of the work and output climbs several decibels over the same driver sealed. Below 37.5 Hz the cone is no longer loaded, so set a subsonic filter a few hertz under it.
With 11.7 square inches of port, air speed stays low enough that the port should stay quiet at high volume.
The wedge shape sits against the rear seat back and fires into the trunk, leaving the floor in front of it free.
Listed construction: 3/4-inch MDF, with a doubled 1.5-inch front baffle, dado and V-groove panel joints, polyfill installed, terminal cup.
Your subwoofer's mounting depth needs to be 4.88 inches or less. The published figures assume the single 4 ohm versions of the driver. Send us your subwoofer model and we will check it against this box before you order.
